About Selected Medical Treatment Expenses
Selective medical care fee is a system established by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare for the purpose of dividing the functions of medical institutions so that "initial medical treatment is provided at clinics and dispensaries and advanced and specialized medical treatment is provided at hospitals (200 beds or more)," and is separate from the medical fee. The fee is charged separately from the medical fee.
Due to the revision of medical service fees, the following changes will be made from Oct 1, 2022.
Please note that from April 2022, patients with medical certificates for children and single parents will also be charged.
